October 29, 2009 -- First Tax Class of the season - 5:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. I received my book for this class about one week ago and studied some. We were supposed to read two chapters and do the homework at the end of the chapters. Today, before the class, I studied and did more homework for about 3 hours. I got it almost done. The subject is Advanced Disposition of Business Assets which is not an exciting read.
I have decided because of wanting to do other things that this would be my last year of doing taxes. 2010 will be my 9th year at H & R Block. One advantage of working there is that I complete my own taxes there on my own time but use the H & R Block software. Another advantage or benefit that I derive from working there is friends/co-workers and it gets me out of the house in the winter. Winter is when I would otherwise be quite sedentary at home.
Next class is November 5 for the same number of hours - 5:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
At the class, we are each eligible to win give aways. Tonight, I didn't win anything.
